The River City Jazz Ensemble
is rich in tradition,with the instantly
identifiable sound of the Big Band era.
Listeners young and old enjoy
the sounds that have been developed
from the music of the 40's to the present day.
The River City musicians come from a broad spectrum of the
community--- from school teachers and pharmacists to church musicians and businessmen.
Entertaining through music has been a personal part of every band member's life.
Playing for a variety of functions has kept the band busy for many years. They have
played at receptions honoring Presidents Bush, Ford, and Reagan, and for Governor Engler's
Inaugural Ball. Company parties, wedding receptions, and country club events have
also been a part of their schedule.
The band consists of 10 musicians and a female vocalist if needed.
